Vegan Breakfast Smoothie recipesJackie Venn
Guys, it’s time to get your blender out and whip up some of these amazing vegan smoothies to get your morning off to a cracking start.
I mean, who says you can’t sometimes have dessert for breakfast? Well, probably the same kind of person who thinks that smoothies are only about kale, spinach and supplements, which means they’ve never had their world rocked by an incredible smoothie to get their juices flowing in the morning. See what I did there?
Chocolate Chip Powered Smoothie
Some people believe that vegans can never truly satisfy a sweet tooth, but those people are wrong. This smoothie is not only a delicious morning treat, but it’s packed full of protein, fats and fibre in all the right ways.
- 1 1/2 frozen bananas
- 1 C nondairy milk
- 1/2 C coconut water
- 2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
- 3 tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 pitted medjool date
- 5 ice cubes
There’s something about green smoothies that seems to make everyone pull an ‘ick’ face, but in this case it’s a tea powder responsible for this colour and not some weird green ingredient that your mum probably made you eat as a kid even though you hated it. And there’s something about pineapple that transports your mind to a sun lounger on a beach far, far away from here, am I right?
