Usmoothie^®  has a wide range of smoothie cups (10oz to 20oz), juice cups (250ml /300ml), lids (domed and flat), smoothie straws and Bottles (with tamper proof caps).  Biodegradable (PLA) and Recyclable cups and lids are stocked - if you don't see what you need then just call us as we will more than likely be able to help.

Usmoothie^®  has a full range of PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) consumables.  Made from cornstarch, a natural renewable resource, the quality and clarity is as good as PET but it degrades naturally in as little as 50 days more... 

Our PLA cups are available from less than 6p each, and our Recyclable range starts from 4p. And our supplier will deliver free for orders over £140 and does all it can to do this in an environmentally sensitive way. They offset the carbon emissions from deliveries with the Woodland Trust and if shipping goods, they use environmentally friendly shipping from NYK Line (low carbon, low sulphur and low water pollution)

PLA - Facts about Corn Resin

• The Corn Resin used for all Usmoothie bio degradeable cups, lids and straws is made by a company called NatureWorks and the resin is referred to as PLA (Polymerized Lactic Acid). NatureWorks PLA is made by isolating the starch stored in the corn kernels and converting it into sugars. During a process of fermentation and separation the sugars become lactic acid, which is used to create the plastic called polylactide.

• Corn Resin requires about 20% to 30% less energy to produce and contributes only half the carbon dioxide than plastics made from petrochemicals.

• PLA is compostable and biodegradable in industrial composting conditions, but it will not degrade or disintegrate on shelves.

• Products made from PLA Corn Plastic are not dishwasher safe.
